600 Free Trees Coming to Brodhead, WI in Spring 2027 π³
We have something exciting planned for spring!
Nuts About Deeβs Berries will be hosting a free tree giveaway near Brodhead, WI in spring 2027, with 600 tree seedlings available to our community β completely free.
Community at the Farm
Weβve ordered three beautiful species:
π³ 200 River Birch
π³ 200 White Oak
π³ 200 Bald Cypress
Our trees are expected to arrive in early April, and weβll announce the official giveaway date and pickup details as we get closer to spring.
Why Give Away 600 Trees?
As we continue building Nuts About Deeβs Berries and planting thousands of perennial trees and shrubs across our own farm, we thought it would be pretty amazing to help plant a few more beyond our farm, too.
A tree planted this spring could provide shade, beauty, wildlife habitat and environmental benefits for decades to come. Some may still be standing for future generations to enjoy.
600 trees. 600 new beginnings.
And we canβt wait to see where they end up!
Meet the Trees
River Birch
River Birch is a beautiful landscape tree especially known for its distinctive peeling bark. It can make an attractive shade or specimen tree and is particularly well suited to areas with moist soil.
White Oak
If you’re looking for a tree to plant for the future, White Oak is hard to beat. These magnificent native trees develop broad canopies and can live for hundreds of years.
This is the kind of tree you plant knowing someone may be sitting beneath its shade long after you’re gone.
Bald Cypress
Bald Cypress might be the most unexpected tree in our giveaway.
Although it looks like an evergreen during the growing season, Bald Cypress is actually a deciduous conifer. Its soft green foliage turns beautiful shades of copper and orange before dropping in the fall.
And despite its association with southern swamps, Bald Cypress can adapt to a much broader range of growing conditions.
When Is the Free Tree Giveaway?
We’re currently planning the giveaway for April 2027 at Nuts About Deeβs Berries near Brodhead, Wisconsin.
The exact date will depend in part on when our trees arrive and spring conditions, so we are not announcing a specific pickup date just yet.
Weβll share additional information closer to the giveaway, including:
- Official date and pickup hours
- Tree availability
- How many trees each person or household may receive
- Pickup instructions
- Basic planting and care information
The trees will be young seedlings, so don’t arrive expecting us to somehow stuff a 40-foot oak into your minivan. π
