Elderberry Vinaigrette
β¨ From the Orchard
At Deeβs Nutz and Berries in Brodhead, WI, we believe the best recipes begin with ingredients that surprise and delightβand our Elderberry Vinaigrette does exactly that. We call it The Berry Bold Dressing because it doesnβt just complement a saladβit commands attention. With the sweetness of fresh elderberries, the zing of vinegar, and a touch of spice, this vinaigrette transforms greens, grains, and even roasted meats into a flavorful adventure.
Elderberries have long been prized for more than just their flavor. These deep-purple berries are packed with vitamin C, potassium, and natural antioxidants. According to the University of Missouri Extension, elderberries have been used historically for winemaking, culinary sauces, and even dyesβmaking them one of the most versatile berries grown in the Midwest.
With our farm opening to the public in 2028, weβre excited to share orchard-to-table creations like this vinaigrette that celebrate both tradition and bold innovation. Whether youβre dressing a warm spinach salad, marinating grilled vegetables, or elevating a cheese board, The Berry Bold Elderberry Vinaigrette delivers unforgettable flavor.
