π± π¬ Conditional Use Permit Approved β A Major Milestone for Our Farm π¦ π
Our Conditional Use Permit Approved status marks a huge step forward for Nuts About Deeβs Berries. On March 18, 2026, Green County officially approved our Conditional Use Permit, allowing us to move from planning into real, visible progress.
This approval isnβt just another box checked. Instead, itβs the legal foundation that allows us to welcome the public, build out experiences, and grow into the destination outlined in Our Farm & Mission.
π± What a Conditional Use Permit Approved Means
A Conditional Use Permit Approved designation allows specific land uses beyond standard agricultural activity. In other words, it gives us permission to safely and responsibly open parts of our farm to the public.
Without this approval, many of the experiences weβre planning simply wouldnβt be allowed. This includes everything from visitor access to structured events and on-farm sales.

π±What Activities Require a Conditional Use Permit Approved
This is where things start to come to life. Our Conditional Use Permit Approved status allows us to move forward with the parts of the farm that involve people, experiences, and community.
U-Pick Experiences
Visitors will be able to walk the farm and harvest their own fruit and nuts through our U-Pick Experience. This includes crops like Aronia Berries, Juneberry, Pawpaw, Chestnuts, and Black Currant, with more varieties becoming available as the farm matures.
Farm Store
We will offer fresh, seasonal produce along with value-added goods like jams, jellies, and other farm-made products. Over time, this space will also support education and connection to our growing system.
Agritourism & Events
This approval allows us to host a wide range of experiences through Join Us at the Farm β Seasonal Events & U-Pick Fun. This includes cook-offs, taste testing events, educational workshops, guided farm tours, and future private events such as weddings and small gatherings.
Public Access & Parking
Bringing visitors onto the farm requires proper infrastructure. This includes designated parking areas, safe traffic flow, and accessibility planningβall covered under the permit.
π±Why This Approval Matters
Getting Conditional Use Permit Approved is not automatic. It requires working closely with zoning officials, demonstrating responsible land use, and ensuring that the farm benefits the surrounding community.
Because of this, the approval sends a clear message:
This farm is real.
This farm is compliant.
This farm is moving forward.
πWhat Happens Next
Now that our Conditional Use Permit Approved status is in place, the next phase begins.
Weβll continue developing the farm with a focus on:
Our pole building (future farm store and operations space)
Infrastructure for U-pick access
Crop establishment across the farm
Long-term plans for events and education
As crops mature, visitors will begin to see more opportunities reflected in our Harvest Calendar, helping plan future visits around peak seasons. Be sure to check our Facebook page as we will update when each crop will be available to pick.
Everything weβre building is grounded in how we farm using How We Farm: Agroforestry and Regenerative Practices, ensuring long-term sustainability and productivity.
Follow Along as We Build
This Conditional Use Permit Approved milestone is just the beginning. Over the next few years, youβll see this land transform into a thriving, perennial food system designed for both production and experience.
If you want to be part of the journey, you can follow along, explore our future U-Pick Experience, or even support the farm through Sponsor a Tree.
π Fun Fact: Seaberries (Sea Buckthorn)
Seaberries are one of the most nutrient-dense fruits on the planetβseriously, theyβre kind of ridiculous.
π They contain 10β15x more vitamin C than oranges
π Theyβre one of the only plant sources of omega-7 fatty acids (great for skin and gut health)
π And hereβs the wild oneβ¦ they were used by Russian cosmonauts to help protect against radiation and support recovery
Bonus:
Theyβre so bright orange they literally look like glowing beads on the branchesβhard to miss, impossible to forget.
